Pretty nice record for the Travs against San Antonio, considering San Antonio's standings. After watching two of the three games with the Missions, and having to twist and squirm around obese and/or linebacker types sitting directly in front of me, I am reminded how little "rise" the seats at D-S have, from row to row. The rise is probably half of what was present at Ray Winder, and as a result, there is much more interference from heads in the next row down.

Anyone know why D-S was designed this way? I had always thought that was the case, but the last visit to Ray Winder a few weeks ago confirmed it -- a huge difference. Perhaps the need for the glassed in seats required that us peons be compressed into less vertical space. We can usually move somewhere else, but its a shame that a little more design experience wasn't incorporated into the plans.

Another much more serious problem is the number of balls that have broken through the net behind home plate. There have been three or four recently, including another one during Friday night's game. We all hear the announcement to be alert to balls and bats into the stands, but breaking through a rotting or weakened safety net would seem to be an injury lawyer's dream, regardless of any disclaimers that were made about fans assuming risk of injury. With this many balls penetrating the net, its obviously time for it to be replaced -- sooner rather than later.

Saw that ball that went through the net Friday night. Couldn't tell if it hit someone, but it definitely rattled some people. Could have been a bad situation.

On another note, is this a different kind of bratwurst this year?

Probably worth noting here Root has anounnced Tom Helmer and Alanna Rizzo's replacements..The Denver Post reports: Roots Sports filled out its Rockies broadcast lineup today, announcing the hiring of Joel Klatt and Jenny Cavnar. Both have deep Colorado roots.Klatt, the former University of Colorado quarterback, will be the on-air host of the Rockies pregame show and the Toyota Postgame Shows. Cavnar will be both a sideline reporter and a host. The duo replaces two longtime Roots Sports personalities. Alanna Rizzo recently signed with the MLB Network and has moved from Colorado to New York. Tom Helmer learned earlier this month that his contract had not been renewed.“We are very pleased to announce the addition of two outstanding talents with local ties to our telecasts,” Root Sports senior vice president Tim Griggs said. “Joel Klatt and Jenny Cavnar grew up in Colorado and we are excited that they will have opportunity to cover their hometown team. They both have a very strong baseball background that will offer unparalleled insight for fans of the Colorado Rockies.”Klatt, an Arvada native, was a three-sport athlete drafted to play baseball out of Pomona High School and spent three seasons playing minor league ball for the San Diego Padres organization (2000-02).After his brief baseball careet, Klatt played for CU, where he set 44 school records as quarterback for the Buffs.Klatt has been a fixture on Denver sports radio in recent years, most recently co-hosting the Evans and Klatt Radio Show on 104.3 The Fan.Cavnar returns to Denver after spending five years in San Diego and Los Angeles. While living on the West Coast, Cavnar worked for ESPN, CBS College Sports, Fox Sports West and was the host of the San Diego Padres pregame and postgame shows.Cavnar’s father, Steve, was inducted into the Colorado High School Hall of Fame after coaching for 27 years at Smoky Hill High School and then leading Regis Jesuit to the Class 5A state baseball title last spring.Jenny Cavnar was born and raised in Aurora. She is a graduate of Smoky Hill High School and Colorado State University.“I grew up around baseball and I am thrilled to be coming back to Colorado,” Cavnar said in a statement. “I’ve covered the Padres and NL West for the last five years so I’m familiar with the division and looking forward to covering my hometown team with the Roots Sports group.” (Big yawner bringing in Klatt in my book)VN:F [1.9.16_1159](from 0 votes)

Absolutely not. Until the AL gets rid of that stupid DH and makes the pihetcr bat, I don't want the Astros to go. Send the Marlins or the D-Backs. Much less history in the NL with either of them. They play each other every year anyway (Astros and Rangers), so please, MLB, do not send Houston to the minor leagues (AL).
