Looks like NWA is fielding the exact same team as last year. That's okay, that should make it twice as fun to sweep them, again, in the playoffs.

Conger is coming.

It is strange that there has been no announcement by either Travs or Trojans. I'm beginning to wonder if I just dreamed having a conversation w/ Mr. Kay.

Official announcememtl indicates game starts at 6:45.

Best news I've heard all day. And I'm not talking about the ualr v travs game

Last year's game was underwhelming. I'll wait for opening day to burn a cigar in the park.

This was posted by the Travelers as an update on Facebook (doesn't look like it is on Travs.com yet):

Travs Announce April 8 Exhibition With UALR
Saturday at 5:24pm

For the second year in a row the Arkansas Travelers will host the UALR Trojans in an exhibition game on Wednesday, April 8 at Dickey-Stephens Park. One day before the Travs open the Texas League season, fans are invited for a 6:45 first pitch and free admission for the five-inning exhibition.

Concessions will be on sale throughout the ballpark and free parking is available in the main lot. The Travelers Crossing gift shop will also be open so fans can have a look at all the new merchandise before opening day.

Gates for the Travs vs. UALR exhibition will open at 6:00 p.m.

The Travs open the 2009 Texas League season on Thursday, April 9. Purchase tickets at (501) 664-7559 or at www.travs.com.

Just a suggestion for Abe Flores, but it might be nice if he could furnish the Travelers with a roster the Saturday before opening day so that it can run in the Sunday newspaper for maximum exposure.

That's what the Salt Lake Bees got, at least:

Also, why is there a commercial running on Comcast promoting the Travs opening day that features Bill Valentine with the titles "Executive VP" AND "Travs General Manager." Is he back? Did he fire Pete? This is beginning to sound like a Vince McMahon storyline.
