Comcast customers, turn to channel 96 on Tuesday night if you want a nice surprise.
Word is filtering in that Comcast has finally reached an agreement with Fox Sports to end the siege on Central Arkansas Comcast customers who have been unable to watch the first two weeks of St. Louis Cardinals games on Fox Sports Midwest.
The package this season also includes a limited number of Kansas City Royals games, which I guess is to help our friends from Royals Country (AKA northwest Arkansas) not feel homesick when they are visiting civilization.
Thanks to all the Travelerocity readers for calling Comcast to voice your opinion about the Cards. The feedback they got in the last two weeks may have helped speed up these negotiations.
And I must thank Comcast for nearly doubling readership of this web site the last two weeks just from people doing searches on Google for some explanation of why the Cardinals weren't on their televisions.
Some other quick points:
• The deal is only through 2009. So this drama will repeat itself next season and the season after that and the season after that...
• It isn't clear if this deal has been in the works for sometime, or if it came as the result of subscriber pressure.
• How soon will the changes be reflected in the Democrat's TV listings?
