This year's roster features outfielder Chris Petit and shortstop Hainley Statia as probably its stars, and here's an interesting development -- Stephen Marek, the Los Angeles Angels No. 6 prospect, is being moved from a starting role to the bullpen.
Back are Ryan Leahy, Mike Collins, Brad Coon, Aaron Peel, Cody Fuller, Ben Johnson, and Tim Duff. The pitching rotation will be returnees Fernando Rodriguez, Brok Butcher, Robert Mosebach, Jesse Smith, and newcomer Anthony Ortega. The bullpen features the other Francisco Rodriguez, who had a good year at Rancho, plus returnees Bill Edwards, Von Stertzbach, David Austen, plus Kevin Jepsen, and Doug Brandt, the only lefty in the pen.
Does this bullpen look like an improvement over the past two years? With Marek and Rodriguez, yes, but I'm not sure about the others. The offense looks like it might be more of a concern this year. You tell me. Full details at Travs.com.
