The Los Angeles Angels have non-tendered the contract of former Traveler and '04 Minor League player of the year Dallas McPherson, which means that he is now a free agent ready to sign with any team in need of a cheap third baseman coming off an injury year. Hmmm, what team is trying to dump their pouty high-priced former all-star and might be in need of a reliable option at third base should any deal ever come through? Could it be the St. Louis Cardinals that this former Trav might be headed to? They've picked up about every other recent Angels discard.
An anonymous poster linked this round up of the Angels' Minor League stars in an earlier thread below. I'm reposting it here in case you haven't seen it. I didn't realize Nick Adenhart's strike-out total dropped by 29, walks increased by 23, and opposing batters hit 50 points higher versus last year. I'm looking forward to seeing Hainley Statia, Hank Conger, and Young-Il Jung eventually make their way to Dickey-Stephens Park.

I think the Cardinals have a third baseman.......

The answer to this question is no know that the Cardinals have traded Jim Edmonds to the Padres for a Minor League outfielder.
